CRANE OPERATOR COMPETENCY COURSE

- Mandatory competency course – OSHA (94) ACT 514 AND FMA (67)
The objectives of this course are to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to enable them to: -
- Promote the awareness and knowledge of safety operations of cranes
- Perform work safety at construction sites
- Understand, analyses and identify risk factors
- Recommend and implement appropriate control measures to comply with legislative requirement (governed by Factory and Machinery Act and Occupational Safety and Health Act – Act 514)
- Make proper evaluation and interpretation
Shall include but not limited to: -
/ Legislative Requirement
/ Calculation of mass
/ Safety factor and sling methods
/ Lifting alliances
/ Load chart interpretation
/ Pre-start / pre-operational checks
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
COMPULSORY for all crane operators under OSHA to register as competent Crane Operator
+ Mobile Crane Operator ( Must know and experience in operating a mobile crane )
+ Crawler Crane Operator ( Must know and experience in operating a crawler crane )
+ Tower Crane Operator ( Must know and experience in operating crane )
+ Safety Supervisor, Manager, Lifting supervisor and Officer
METHOD OF INSTRUCTION
- Class room lecture (2 days) and practical (1 day) – day class + one day assessment
- In house – clients convenience and proposed time and proposed date
- Venue – BINTULU
- Participant inclusive of materials, trainer’s and assessor’s mobilization and accommodation, crane rental, assessment fees, 2 tea breaks and one lunch.
- CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY AND CERTIFICATE OF JKKP REGISTRATION IF PASS THE ASSESSMENT.
- The participant has to be 18 years old and above, Malaysian or Foreign worker with valid crane operator permit.
