Safety And Health Supervisory Course

SAFETY AND HEALTH SUPERVISORY COURSE

INTRODUCTION

In the past, “accident prevention simply meant freedom from serious injuries and property loss.”  Today, however, “loss control” covers not only injury but also occupational disease and environmental concerns along with fire and property damage control.  This new understanding of safety is reflected at all levels of management from the CEO to the line supervisor.  Loss control is considered so essential a function that in most companies safety performance is included as part of a supervisor’s overall job evaluation.  It helps you to comprehend the HSE operation aspect of your company and also provide assistance to your HSE department. Furthermore, it complied with FMA (Building Operations And Works of Engineering Construction) (Safety) Regulations 1986.

As a result, today’s supervisor must become skilled in three aspects of loss control:
1.            learn to recognise and identify hazards
2.            learn the acceptable level of risk for department operations
3.            learn how to control these hazards to prevent injuries, illness and property damage
4.            learn how to administer, organise and direct the implementation of safety program

This course will provide the supervisors with the required skill to perform these responsibilities successfully.  It is also designed to take the process of learning how to manage and control safety problems from the supervisory level up to the management.  HSE is a commitment and a responsibility.
