Safety And Health Committee Workshop

SAFETY AND HEALTH COMMITTEE WORKSHOP
(UNDER THE ACT 514 regulation 1996)

In Section 30 of the OSH Act 1994, OSHA stated that when 40 or more persons are employed a “Safety and Health Committee” shall be established.

Under this Act, it shall be the duty of every employer and every self-employed person to establish a Safety and Health Committee to ensure, so far as is practicable, the safety health and welfare at work of all his employees. An employer who contravenes the provision of the relevant sections of the Act shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine or imprisonment or to both.
